Labels and how to read them - CAREFULLY

The following are ingredients to look for on labels for those of us with allergies / candida / food intolerances:
  • Preservatives
  • Conditioners
  • Flavourings
  • Colouring / colourants
  • Sweetners
  • Starch
Look for unfamiliar names Eg
  • Casein - milk protein
  • Starch - gluten
  • Durum - gluten
  • Cracked wheat - gluten
Food additives which can cause adverse reactions:
  • Aspartimine - sweetener
  • sBenzoates - preservative
  • BHA/BHT - antioxidant
  • FD/C dyes - colorants
  • Nitrates/nitrates(S502) - preservative
  • Parabens - preservative
  • Sulfites - preservative
  • Starch - gluten
